Am I impressive enough to get into Notre Dame? I start High School next year so I still have time but am I impressive enough to get into Notre Dame? I do various volunteering around my community and I volunteer with Special Olympics with my family. I am taking Spanish every year until I graduate so I hope to get a foreign language under my belt. I am my school's Student Council Treasurer. I also have been a member of orchestra for four years and I plan to continue. This summer I am traveling to the South Pacific with a student ambassador program to learn about their cultures and I will take many more international trips before I graduate. I also am and always have been a straight A student. Do you think I have a chance to get into Notre Dame? I also traveled there this year with my friend. Her great great grandfather owned the land before it was a college. I have straight A's. I have never had anything lower than that. And money isn't a problem either.
How long will I be set back if I get all four wisdom teeth removed? I'm getting my teeth removed this Friday afternoon. I have a party Friday night and then tickets for the Notre Dame game for Saturday. Just want to get some opinions from other peoples experience if they have any idea what my capabilities will be. Also, is it smart to be drinking after I get the teeth removed?
How are my picks for the NCAA Final Four? I have .. Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, and .... NOTRE DAME! All of them are top seeds except for Notre Dame. I think Notre Dame could be the dark horse that beats Baylor, Villanova, and DUKE. So what do you think about my picks and how about your picks? Btw ... National Championship .. KANSAS VERSUS KENTUCKY National CHAMPION: Kansas.
When will notre dame fire fat boy weis? Like game show contestants trying to be the first one to buzz in, the national sports media can’t wait to declare Notre Dame football and its head coach dead and buried. Two games into the season, we’re already seeing signs of an itchy trigger finger. Ding! Charlie Weis has lost four games in a row. That’s no different than Tyrone Willingham’s situation. If Willingham was fired, Weis should be fired too! Ding! Willingham struggled in his third year. Weis is struggling in his third year. If Willingham was fired, Weis should be fired too! Ding! At 0-2, Weis could be in for an eight-loss season. If Willingham was fired, Weis should be fired too! Will notre dame win 2 games this year??
Do you think Charlie Weis has turned Notre Dame around? A) Yes -- they are 1-0 now! Better give him a contract extension before an NFL team takes him! HURRY! B) No -- he already turned Notre Dame around. I remember reading about it in a book three or four years ago C) Yes -- it took some time, but that was to be expected; imagine trying to turn a ship the size of Charlie Weis D) No -- they still suck, yet they may be the best thing on NBC E) OTHER -- please specify
What game screwed your bracket the most? God I had Texas A&M in the Final Four. Texas in the Final Four. Notre Dame in the Elite Eight. Tennessee in the Elite Eight. I am basically out in the poll of big bucks....what game screwed your bracket over the most?
I read "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" and "Rebecca," now I need to write my own essay question For summer reading, I was given a long list of books to choose from and was instructed to choose two, read them, and then answer one of four essay questions. The problem is, after reading the two books I chose (The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Rebecca), I realize that the two stories are difficult to compare and contrast because theyr're so dissimilar in theme. The first two questions are compare/contrast, the second question asks me to explain how the books influenced my understanding of social/ethical/philisophical conflicts and resolutions. My only remaining option is the fourth prompt on the list: make up my own question and answer it. But what question? If you've read these books (or even skimmed them on SparkNotes), please help me come up with something! A quick 10 points to the question I use for my essay...or if you help me get an idea of something to write for the third prompt. (I need to finish this in two hours!)
Is notre dame going to be as pathetic in 2007 as they were in 2006 in football? It sure looks like it. None of the four quarterbacks seeking to replace Brady Quinn did anything remarkable. Evan Sharpley had the best passing numbers, completing five of seven passes for 31 yards, but he also had a fumble. Demetrius Jones was 3-of-6 passing with an ugly 15-yard TD pass to Robby Parris. But he also overthrew a pass to tight end John Carlson that safety David Bruton intercepted and returned 35 yards for a touchdown. Jones also had a 31-yard run on a third-and-19. Clausen was 3-of-7 passing and had a chance to be a hero. The Blue got the ball at its own 35-yard line with 2 minutes left, but his only completion was called back on a pass interference call against Carlson.
Who is in your final four? I have Maryland, Syracuse, Kentucky, and Notre Dame. My championship game matchup is Kentucky at Syracuse, with Syracuse as the champs.
I got into my top four colleges! now I can't choose which college I want to go to!? I got into UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSD and Univ. of Notre Dame. I won a 30,000 scholarship for Notre Dame with my ethnicity being half Chinese and Half Mexican. I have also won Hispanic and Asian American scholarship for the UC's schools along with Cal grants. So money shouldn't be too big of a problem. I'm planning to major in Biology/ Pre-Med in hopes of becoming a cardiac surgeon .
Notre Dame vs. Boston University vs. Purdue vs. UC Davis? I am planning on going into either some type of engineering or medicine but I have not quite made up my mind as to which I plan to pursue I was accepted to all four of these schools and dont quite know where to go. Which would you go to and why?
what is the meaning of poem "La Belle Dame" by John Keats? Oh what can ail thee, knight-at-arms, Alone and palely loitering? The sedge has withered from the lake, And no birds sing. Oh what can ail thee, knight-at-arms, So haggard and so woe-begone? The squirrel's granary is full, And the harvest's done. I see a lily on thy brow, With anguish moist and fever dew, And on thy cheek a fading rose Fast withereth too. I met a lady in the meads, Full beautiful--a faery's child, Her hair was long, her foot was light, And her eyes were wild. I made a garland for her head, And bracelets too, and fragrant zone; She looked at me as she did love, And made sweet moan. I set her on my pacing steed, And nothing else saw all day long, For sidelong would she bend, and sing A faery's song. She found me roots of relish sweet, And honey wild, and manna dew, And sure in language strange she said-- "I love thee true." She took me to her elfin grot, And there she wept and sighed full sore, And there I shut her wild eyes With kisses four. And there she lulled me asleep And there I dreamed--ah! woe betide! The latest dream I ever dreamed On the cold hill's side. I saw pale kings and princes too, Pale warriors, death-pale were they all; They cried--"La Belle Dame sans Merci Hath thee in thrall!" I saw their starved lips in the gloam, With horrid warning gaped wide, And I awoke and found me here, On the cold hill's side. And this is why I sojourn here Alone and palely loitering, Though the sedge is withered from the lake, And no birds sing.
What are my chances at Notre Dame? If I got a 730 on the math part, and 600 on the english part, (total 1330). My gpa is about a 3.1, but I am taking all honors classes. I go to a catholic school which has good academics and athletics. I played golf for four years and track for 3 years. I have a good amount of community service that I have done, including helping people in south america for two weeks. I also have some connections and somewhat know the admissions director. What do you think my chances are of getting in? and what can I do to help these chances?
6 Wins & 6 Losses ..... Should Notre Dame Be Playing In Any Bowl Game .....? http://www.ncaafootball.com/index.php?s=&url_channel_id=34&url_article_id=15497&change_well_id=2 With a 6 - 6 record and losses in four of their last five games Notre Dame will play the University of Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl. 01 - Are they deserving? 02 - Should they lose will Charlie Weis be forced to resign? 03 - The losses the Irish have suffered ... Is it because they haven't recruited well enough? Is it because Charlie Weis was over-rated in the first place? 04 - Poll : Hawaii or Notre Dame ... Pick the Winner. Thumbs up to all who answer. Thanks! aaron b : Thanks for your answer however the winningest program would be the Michigan Wolverines. Good answer.
Who out ranks Arthur Penhaligon in house precedence in Sir Thursday? In Sir Thursday, the recruiting officer states that Arthur is 6th in precedence in the House. Does anyone know who out ranks him? Presumably, there are the four Morrow Days (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday), but then who is the other? Does Dame Primus count, or possibly the piper, mariner? Or is it just simply that the Architect is permanently first in precedence, despite her unknown whereabouts? Any ideas?
Are we witness to a new age in college football? I am a life long Florida fan, GO GATORS, and enjoy the friendly jabber tossed back and forth with my best friend who is a life long Seminole. But with the new arrivals into the ranking such as South Florida, Oregon, and Hawaii, are we on the verge of a massive change in college football. Is 2007 the year of the NEW ELITE, or are we just witness to the ever changing tidal flow of college teams. With some of the usual heavy hitters such as Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Michigan (I could go on and on) not even being in the top 25, I have to wonder. Please share your thoughts and opinions on this subject. I can't speak for the entire nation, but in Florida, we now have four teams to watch and soon to be five when Central Florida starts to fire on all cylinders.
What will the Weis family (Notre Dame, IN) find from Santa tonight at midnight? 10 points? Points to be awarded by midnight Dec. 25, 2009 from YAHOO! sports story about Notre Dame's losing bowl record and their Coach - - “When I’m sitting here on Christmas Eve after the game with my wife and kid, waiting for Santa and the sleigh to pull up, I want to have a smile on my face,” he said. “And I won’t be the happiest camper if it goes the other way.” Weis hasn’t had much to smile about this season, so a win over Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl on Wednesday night would certainly be welcome. Yes, the Fighting Irish are in the postseason, but with a 6-6 record and losses in four of their last five games. To make matters worse, Notre Dame has an NCAA-record nine-game bowl losing streak. The Fighting Irish haven’t hoisted a postseason trophy since beating Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl after the 1993 season. “Breaking our bowl streak, that’s very, very important,” tailback Armondo Allen said. “That’s something we always talk about, starting a new trend. And we can start it right here in Hawaii.” POST YOUR ANSWER by game's end - - 11 p.m. or so Eastern
Will I get into Notre Dame? Hi! I am looking at colleges to attend next year and I am very interested in Notre dame university, But with my stats will I be able to get in? Thanks for the help. I am in chorus, Youth Group (I am very involved in church), and the PAWS club. I have plus 150 hours of community service. Also, I go to a private high school and my dad is an alumni. Obviously I've been really busy and have been working hard to get into a college like this so thanks. Ooops. My bad I just started Calculus! Thanks for that! (:

Do I stand a chance of getting into the University of Notre Dame? I have plenty of backups and other preferences, but Notre Dame is easily my number one pick. I'm just concerned about the brutal acceptance rate and was wondering if my chances of being admitted were decent enough? I have a 3.8 out of 4.0 GPA. I've taken 3 AP classess (my school doesn't offer very many), 2 Honors classes, and numerous CP. I'm a member of Key Club, FBLA, and Foreign Language club. I also ran track for a year, played soccer for three, and played basketball for four. On my basketball team I hold the posistion of team captain. My community service could be better, but I would guess that so far I have about 200 hours. Do I stand a chance? I have yet to take the ACT or SAT, but on my practise ACT I scored a 28.

How do you see the French character in general? "Paris Syndrome" leaves tourists in shock Mon Oct 23, 12:53 AM ET PARIS (Reuters) - Around a dozen Japanese tourists a year need psychological treatment after visiting Paris as the reality of unfriendly locals and scruffy streets clashes with their expectations, a newspaper reported on Sunday. ADVERTISEMENT "A third of patients get better immediately, a third suffer relapses and the rest have psychoses," Yousef Mahmoudia, a psychologist at the Hotel-Dieu hospital, next to Notre Dame cathedral, told the newspaper Journal du Dimanche. Already this year, Japan's embassy in Paris has had to repatriate at least four visitors -- including two women who believed their hotel room was being bugged and there was a plot against them. Previous cases include a man convinced he was the French "Sun King", Louis XIV, and a woman who believed she was being attacked with microwaves, the paper cited Japanese embassy official Yoshikatsu Aoyagi as saying. "Fragile travellers can lose their bearings. When the idea they have of the country meets the reality of what they discover it can provoke a crisis," psychologist Herve Benhamou told the paper. The phenomenon, which the newspaper dubbed "Paris Syndrome", was first detailed in the psychiatric journal Nervure in 2004. Bernard Delage of Jeunes Japon, an association that helps Japanese families settle in France, said: "In Japanese shops, the customer is king, whereas here assistants hardly look at them ... People using public transport all look stern, and handbag snatchers increase the ill feeling." A Japanese woman, Aimi, told the paper: "For us, Paris is a dream city. All the French are beautiful and elegant ... And then, when they arrive, the Japanese find the French character is the complete opposite of their own."

What is the tone of this poem? List at least two words or phrases that support your answer? In Reference to Her Children by Anne Bradstreet I had eight birds hatcht in one nest, Four Cocks were there, and Hens the rest. I nurst them up with pain and care, No cost nor labour did I spare Till at the last they felt their wing, Mounted the Trees and learned to sing. Chief of the Brood then took his flight To Regions far and left me quite. My mournful chirps I after send Till he return, or I do end. Leave not thy nest, thy Dame and Sire, Fly back and sing amidst this Quire. My second bird did take her flight And with her mate flew out of sight. Southward they both their course did bend, And Seasons twain they there did spend, Till after blown by Southern gales They Norward steer'd with filled sails. A prettier bird was no where seen, Along the Beach, among the treen. I have a third of colour white On whom I plac'd no small delight, Coupled with mate loving and true, Hath also bid her Dame adieu. And where Aurora first appears, She now hath percht to spend her years. One to the Academy flew To chat among that learned crew. Ambition moves still in his breast That he might chant above the rest, Striving for more than to do well, That nightingales he might excell. My fifth, whose down is yet scarce gone, Is 'mongst the shrubs and bushes flown And as his wings increase in strength On higher boughs he'll perch at length. My other three still with me nest Until they're grown, then as the rest, Or here or there, they'll take their flight, As is ordain'd, so shall they light. If birds could weep, then would my tears Let others know what are my fears Lest this my brood some harm should catch And be surpris'd for want of watch Whilst pecking corn and void of care They fall un'wares in Fowler's snare; Or whilst on trees they sit and sing Some untoward boy at them do fling, Or whilst allur'd with bell and glass The net be spread and caught, alas; Or lest by Lime-twigs they be foil'd; Or by some greedy hawks be spoil'd. O would, my young, ye saw my breast And knew what thoughts there sadly rest. Great was my pain when I you bred, Great was my care when I you fed. Long did I keep you soft and warm And with my wings kept off all harm. My cares are more, and fears, than ever, My throbs such now as 'fore were never. Alas, my birds, you wisdom want Of perils you are ignorant. Oft times in grass, on trees, in flight, Sore accidents on you may light. O to your safety have an eye, So happy may you live and die. Mean while, my days in tunes I'll spend Till my weak lays with me shall end. In shady woods I'll sit and sing And things that past, to mind I'll bring. Once young and pleasant, as are you, But former toys (no joys) adieu! My age I will not once lament But sing, my time so near is spent, And from the top bough take my flight Into a country beyond sight Where old ones instantly grow young And there with seraphims set song. No seasons cold, nor storms they see But spring lasts to eternity. When each of you shall in your nest Among your young ones take your rest, In chirping languages oft them tell You had a Dame that lov'd you well, That did what could be done for young And nurst you up till you were strong And 'fore she once would let you fly She shew'd you joy and misery, Taught what was good, and what was ill, What would save life, and what would kill. Thus gone, amongst you I may live, And dead, yet speak and counsel give. Farewell, my birds, farewell, adieu, I happy am, if well with you.
BCS and a playoff possibility, why or why not? First you would have to eliminate independants, such as Army Navy Notre Dame and western kentuckey. You take the conference winners, which is 11, and 5 wild card spots. Use the BCS system for the rankings. Higher ranked teams will have homefield advantage up to the final four.

Do you agree with my Sweet 16, Elite 8, and Final Four? Sweet 16: Midwest: Florida, Maryland, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech West: Kansas, Southern Illinois, Duke, UCLA East: North Carolina, Texas, Vandy, G'Town South: Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Nevada Elite 8: Midwest: Floirda and Notre Dame West: Southern Illinois and UCLA East: Texas and Georgetown South: Tennessee and Texas A&M Final 4: Florida UCLA Georgetown Texas A&M I have Florida winning it all. I have Kansas out kinda early cause they haven't been good in the tourney the last 2 years and haven't gotten a whole heck of a lot better. I have Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Southern Illinois moving far because of individual leadership, shooting, and defense all on the 3 of those teams. I'm sure I'll get some disagreement with this but I wanna hear your thoughts. Best answer for the most "in-depth analysis". Ya I am no where near a sports journalist...
oklahoma vs. texas/ usc vs. Notre Dame? If all four teams are undefeated going into their games against each other, which game will be the better match up. Where will Gameday be on October 17 if all four teams are undefeated?

Did you enter any crazy upsets into your brackets? I actually picked Notre Dame to beat Florida into the Final Four. I kind of have a personal grudge against Florida colleges and their boorish frat-type (oh I'm sorry the PC word now is "party") students so I hope the luck of the Irish will follow them far enough to kick Florida's butts. Oh who am I kidding, all colleges have those types but I still love picking on Florida, and St. Patrick's Day is around the corner so I'm crossing my fingers for some old-fashioned Irish luck.
Final Four/ big upsets? I have texas A&M, G'Town, UCLA, Florida finals- UCLA v.s G'town........G'Town WINNER! upsets- Virginia tech beats Kansas Winthrop over Notre Dame
Frozen Four tonight? In possibly the most underrated game there is, college hockey, who ya got tonight? North Dakota and Boston College Michigan and Notre Dame BC Michigan Finals Michigan (Go Blue)
Does Penn State have better student-athletes than Notre Dame (South Bend, IN)? (10 points)? Next Tuesday in the NIT finals (Madison Square Garden) the Final Four (Baylor, San Diego State, ND and Penn St.) will meet in semi-finals followed on Thursday with the Championship. What do the Men's Teams show about the schools' own sports excellence or the second-tier results this past Basketball season ? ? ? thanks - 10 points for best analysis the University I'm asking about is PENN STATE not Penn (Ivy League) -- here's the WIKI info about it at University Park, PA : The Pennsylvania State University (commonly known as Penn State) is a state-related,[2][3] land-grant, space grant public research university located in State College, Pennsylvania, United States. Can I get into Notre Dame wihtout soph. english hons? Kay, so this is how I plan on going with my high school career: Softball - All four years Tae Kwon Do- 2nd degree by senior year Piano- playing for 11 years by senior year Tennis- 5 years (not on team) 4 Solid Clubs and possibly a leadership position in one of them Lots of service hours including in a third world country I am asian -minority? I come from a fairly wealthy family As for classes: All regulars my freshman year. Spanish II. Got a 3.8 average and made first honors all year Honor Physical Science, Spanish III honors, Geometry AND Algebra and I was offered honors English Which is my dilemma. I simply do not have time for all the work that honors English requires of me, furthermore i do not enjoy the subject of english. Is it necessary for me to get into ND? I do not want senior year to come around and not get accepted into my DREAM college and look back and think "what if I took honors english?" And junior and senior year I'll be in honors science and honors math. Opinions? Also I don't want to take Honors English and get a bad grade. That would NOT look impressive. I am aware that I should "take the most rigorous classes available and excel in them" but I cannot guarantee that i will excel. Or without Honors English at all. Not just sophmore.
