How Would A Young Band Go About Booking Gigs?

I'm in a Toronto band whose age range is 16-20. We've perfected our set and are looking for gigs but I have almost no idea of what to do. We have a website and songs. And I've found the person to contact for bookings but I don't know what to ask them? Can anyone give me examples of what to say in an email or phone call?
