How come "girl-ROCK bands" never make it big?

I'm just curious and would like to hear some of your opinions as to why most, if not all ROCK "girl bands" never reach the same notoriety as their male counterparts? Also, I've noticed if you're in a "girl rock band" and you don't look a particular way/style or if you show an ounce of femininity than they are just cast off as "posers". Please share your responses! Well I'm not talking about bands/artists from decades ago. As for the current music scene: The Donnas Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs Where are they now? And when they did have SOME radio play-it was only for 1 song and that was it. ROCK BANDS. . . Not the POP scene. . .So bands like, Destiny's Child, Spice Girls, etc. . .don't qualify. . .

6. well... not necessarily here in america... but in many other countries there are lots of girl rock bands.....
7. Making It Big doesn't matter, as long as you make a difference. Bands Like: Bratmobile Sleater-Kinney Heavens To Betsy L7 Huggy Bear The Butchies Tribe 8 7 Year B.itch The All Girl Summer Fun Band Babes in Toyland The Bodysnatchers The Devotchkas Go Betty Go Heart Jack Off Jill Indigo Girls Julie Ruin Lillix Lunachicks The Runaways The Raincoats The Shaggs The Slits Slant 6 The Softies Made a huge difference in music, creating genres like Riot Grrrl and Queercore. They are all legends, not radio played. But that shouldn't matter. I don't take anything seriously that I hear on the Radio because I know fame has nothing to do with talent. Rock is a male dominated genre. Sadly people like seeing guys rock out more than girls. I think it's senseless, but what can you do except support the girl bands yourself.
8. Paramore, Evanescence (im not sure if i spelled that right), and In this Moment are big. You dont see very many big girl rock bands because there arent that many.
9. they all suck, the only good one is arch enemy
